Author Guidelines

Welcome to the submission process of our journal, dedicated to the publication of innovative, high-quality research in the health sciences. Our goal is to disseminate knowledge rigorously, accessibly, and in alignment with international standards of scientific excellence. This guide details how to prepare and submit your manuscript. Please read it carefully to ensure that your work meets editorial expectations.

The Author Guidelines of the Journal of Advanced Clinical Implementation and Applied Medical Innovations (JACIAMI) follow international standards of indexed journals and comply with ISSN requirements to ensure clarity, consistency, and transparency at every stage of the editorial process.

Manuscript Categories
We accept the following types of contributions, each with specific length limits and requirements:

  • Original Research Articles, for novel experimental or observational studies;

  • Review Articles (narrative, systematic/integrative, or critical);

  • Case Reports, up to 2,500 words and 20 references;

  • Brief Communications, up to 1,500 words (or 2 printed pages);

  • Letters to the Editor, up to 500 words;

  • Opinion Articles, up to 1,500 words;

  • Experience Reports, up to 2,000 words.

Manuscript Preparation
All elements (text, figures, tables, legends, and references) must be submitted in a single Microsoft Word (.docx) file, in the prescribed order: title, authors and affiliations, abstract, main text, references, tables, and figures. Use Times New Roman font, size 11 or 12, single spacing, 2.5 cm margins, and line numbering if desired, to facilitate review.

Abstract and Keywords
Write a concise, standalone, informative abstract of up to 250 words, structured or unstructured. Include three to eight keywords in Portuguese, and if the manuscript is submitted in Portuguese or Spanish, provide an identical version of the abstract in English.

Authorship Criteria
Up to ten researchers who have made substantial contributions (conception, execution, analysis, or writing) may be listed as authors, in accordance with ICMJE guidelines; additional co-authorship requires prior approval from the Editor-in-Chief.

References
Cite sources according to Vancouver style (sequential numbering in the text) or ABNT (author-date), prioritizing recent studies (last five years). Include DOIs or URLs whenever available, ensuring traceability and compliance with best editorial practices.

Submission
Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the journal’s online system (OJS portal) or, in case of technical impediment, by email to the Editor-in-Chief (editorJACIAMI@outlook.com.br). There are no submission or initial review fees.

Peer Review Process
We employ double-blind peer review with at least two external reviewers. The initial decision is issued within 15 days of submission; in the event of disagreement, a third reviewer is consulted for the final verdict. This model ensures impartiality and scientific rigor.

Mandatory Declarations
Manuscripts involving human or animal research must include the CEP/CEUA protocol number and a statement of compliance with the Declaration of Helsinki and ARRIVE guidelines, respectively. Conflicts of interest and funding sources must also be clearly disclosed in a dedicated section.

Ethics and Plagiarism
We enforce zero tolerance for plagiarism: all manuscripts undergo screening with similarity-detection tools (iThenticate, CopySpider), and any text with more than 2% uncited similarity is automatically rejected. Complaints or appeals related to unethical practices are handled according to COPE guidelines.

These guidelines aim to standardize manuscript presentation, optimize the editorial workflow, and ensure the quality and transparency that confer credibility upon JACIAMI in the international scientific arena.

JACIAMI, its editors, and reviewers assume no responsibility for errors, omissions, or implications arising from the published content.

Copyright and Reproduction

Upon submission of a manuscript, the authors grant JACIAMI the exclusive rights of first publication. Following publication, the article is made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits the reproduction, distribution, and full or partial use of the content, provided that the original source is properly cited (e.g., "Published in Journal of Advanced Clinical Implementation and Applied Medical Innovations, DOI: [number]"). • Manuscript Withdrawal: Authors may request the withdrawal of a submitted manuscript before publication, provided that the request is made in writing to the Editor-in-Chief (editorJACIAMI@outlook.com.br) up to 60 days before the scheduled online publication date. After this deadline, or once published, the article cannot be withdrawn, except in cases of proven misconduct (e.g., plagiarism or fraud), as determined by editorial decision.

Privacy Policy

The personal data provided by authors (names, email addresses, affiliations, and addresses) will be used exclusively for editorial purposes, such as communication during the review process, publication, and issuance of certificates. This data:

  • Is protected in accordance with applicable laws (e.g., the General Data Protection Law – LGPD, in Brazil; the General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR, in the European Union);

Authors have the right to request access, correction, or deletion of their personal data after the conclusion of the editorial process, except when required for legal records or permanent archiving.

Anti-Plagiarism Policy

JACIAMI adopts a zero-tolerance stance on plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, literal copying, or improper paraphrasing without attribution. All submitted manuscripts undergo rigorous screening with similarity detection tools, such as CopySpider, iThenticate, or widely recognized equivalents in academia. Our policy includes:

  • Similarity Threshold: Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 2% (excluding properly referenced citations, bibliographical references, and common phrases) are automatically rejected in the initial screening.
  • Consequences: Authors of articles with confirmed plagiarism will have their manuscript rejected and will be permanently barred from submitting new work to JACIAMI. Severe cases may be reported to the authors' affiliated institutions and recorded in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
  • Appeal: Authors may contest a rejection for plagiarism by providing evidence of originality within 10 days of notification. The final decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief, based on independent analysis.

Quarantine Policy

To prevent duplicate submissions and protect editorial integrity:

  • Manuscripts rejected for plagiarism, misconduct, or low quality cannot be resubmitted to JACIAMI for 12 months, unless a substantial revision is approved by the Editor-in-Chief.
  • Authors banned for serious ethical violations (e.g., repeated fraud) will be placed under permanent quarantine.
  • Quarantine status is recorded internally and communicated to the author, with the right to appeal within 15 days.

Integrity and Retractions

In addition to plagiarism, JACIAMI follows COPE guidelines to address other forms of scientific misconduct, such as data fabrication or falsification. If identified after publication, misconduct may lead to:

  • Corrections: Publication of errata for minor errors, with notification to readers;
  • Retractions: Removal of the article from the website, with an explanatory note linked to the DOI, preserved for transparency purposes.

Authors will be notified and given the opportunity to respond before any final action. Authors and readers may report issues; an editorial investigation, with the authors' right of reply, is conducted within 30 days. Retractions are rare and based on clear evidence.

Open Access Policy

JACIAMI operates under a full open access model, ensuring that all content is freely available to the public immediately upon publication. This reflects our commitment to the democratization of knowledge, broadening the reach of discoveries to researchers, clinicians, and society. Publication costs are covered by article processing charges (APCs), detailed in the Fee Policy, ensuring sustainability without access barriers.
